Your loan file and questionnaire answers are processed in your browser. This page explains the copies saved on your device and the separate information handled by our payment, hosting and email providers.

Your loan file never leaves your browser

Your “Download My Aid Data” file is read and analyzed entirely inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to Clevara, never written to a Clevara server, and never stored in a server-side database. There is no borrower account to create and no borrower login.

Clevara’s servers create checkout sessions and verify their payment status. Creation accepts an empty request body; verification sends a checkout reference and a purchase verification value. Neither request sends your loan file, balances, income or answers.

What is processed, and by whom

Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Card numbers are entered into Stripe’s own form and are never seen or stored by Clevara. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy.

Stripe also receives any email address you enter at checkout, including a free checkout in a test environment. Test checkout moves no real money, but the information entered is still sent to Stripe. Deleting a report in Clevara does not delete Stripe records.

Our hosting provider receives connection metadata when you visit, such as your IP address and requested pages. The hosting platform supplies an approximate region for availability checks. If you contact support, our email provider stores your message and email address. Please do not email loan files, reports, income details or medical information.

Our servers receive the result of the payment — whether a given checkout session was paid — and nothing about your loans.

So that we can tell when a payment has gone wrong, our servers record a short operational note for each payment step: the checkout session reference, whether it succeeded, and — if it failed — the payment provider’s error category. These notes are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and are used only to detect and diagnose payment failures. They contain nothing about your loans, your income, your answers, or your location, and no card details.

What Clevara stores on your device

Clevara keeps its local copies in your own browser’s storage (IndexedDB), and neither kind is ever sent to a Clevara server or written to one. There is no copy of your report on Clevara’s servers. A PDF you save or share is a separate copy under your control.

Saved reports are not protected by a Clevara password or additional app-level encryption. Anyone with access to this browser profile can reopen them. Closing a tab does not erase the stored report. Use a private device and the deletion controls below when finished.

The disability question is optional. Prefer not to answer omits the answer and does not change payment estimates. A Yes answer adds disability-program information to the report, including its local recovery copy and any PDF you save.

When you open checkout, a recovery copy of your analysis is written to your browser before you enter any card details. That is what lets a crash, a reload, or a closed tab during payment not cost you the analysis. Because it is written before payment rather than after it, a recovery copy can exist for a checkout that was abandoned or never paid for.

Once a payment is confirmed, the recovery copy becomes the saved copy of your report — the one the recovery card on the analysis page opens. It expires 30 days after it was saved.

A local copy is removed in three situations: when a checkout is confirmed as unpaid, when an expired copy is next processed, and — for the saved copy — when you delete it yourself using the control at the bottom of this page. That second case is worth stating plainly rather than glossing: expiry is checked while Clevara is open in your browser, so a copy that has passed its 30-day mark can physically remain in your browser’s storage until you next open Clevara. Clearing site data for this site in your browser settings removes it at any time, without waiting for Clevara.

Printing the report — or saving it as a PDF from the print dialog — is the way to keep a copy past that window.

Analytics and cookies

Clevara runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no advertising cookies. There is no third-party measurement script on this site. If that changes, this page changes with it and the date above will move.

Delete my locally saved data

This removes the saved copy of your report from this browser. A checkout that is still being confirmed keeps its recovery copy until the payment resolves or the copy expires, so that a report you have paid for is not thrown away while it is being verified. Clearing site data for this site in your browser settings removes everything at once.
